new idea..

Ok, so now that i know my font isn't really clear i shall change it to black. hopefully Ms Zhang can see it this time. :)
my idea wasn't really that scientific, so i'm going to abandon that idea and find a new one!
So i googled a lot of things and found that there's an experiment called the "rubber egg experiment" or something like that. it sounds really cool.
So the main idea of this experiment is that an egg (or a number of eggs) will be placed into white vinegar, they'll be in there for a few days then the eggs' surfaces are meant to appear or feel like rubber.
The theory behind this is that the shell of the egg is made up of calcium carbonate, and when calcium carbonate is placed in acidic vinegar, the calcium carbonate will be "eaten up" or dissolves. This will leave the inner membrane of the egg behind and give the egg a feel that's rubber-like.

some info on shortsighted-ness

Short sighted-ness

"If your cornea is too curved, or your eyeball too long, light rays from distant objects focus in front of your retina. This makes objects seem fuzzy or blurred.

Nearby objects don't look fuzzy, because the light rays enter your eye at a slight angle. This means they focus on your retina properly....

Myopia usually develops in children or young teenagers. You are more likely to develop myopia if it runs in your family." -from Bupa (bupa.co.uk)

no wonder why i wear glasses, both my parents wear glasses too.

about my variables...

i don't even know if my experiment will be approved...but.
i think my variables are:
independent: the sign/size of letters that i'm going to write on the sign..
dependent: how far people can see without squinting their eyes..

:D

So it's decided..

Ok, so I think I'll be testing people's eyesight by holding a sign with some letters or numbers on it then get some people to see if they can read from a distance. Then I'll slowly take steps and walk backwards and see how far they can see the sign from.
I'm planing to use people with and without glasses, seeing the affect of longsighted-ness or short-sightedness. :D

Had no idea until..

I had no idea about what to do for my experiment until i put my glasses on..
I was thinking what IS perfect eyesight? how far can a person with perfect eyesight see?
If someone has perfect eyesight, then why can't he/she see things from really really really far away?
